Gun safety classes

Register.

Free, first come, first served. Fill in the note below, save it to this device or print it, and bring it to the door. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — there is no account, no server, and no list of who owns what.

The courses

How it works

Three steps, no account.

1

Choose a session

Look at the schedule and pick a date. Standing classes need no booking; drop in if a seat is free.

2

Write your note

Fill in the form on the next card. It writes a short registration note you can save on this device, print, or read out at the desk.

3

Bring it to the door

Arrive ten minutes early. If you are bringing your own firearm, it must be unloaded and cased, with the ammunition stored separately — see the rules on the policies card.

If you would rather not type

Come to the door ten minutes early and ask for a paper registration sheet. Bring a phone number, a name or a nickname, and the session you want. If you would rather not give a name, a nickname is enough.

Registration note

Write it here.

Everything stays on this device until you choose to save, print or copy it. Nothing is uploaded, and the page works with no signal.

Your note is a convenience, not a booking. Seats are held for whoever is at the door first, so if the class looks full, come early.

Your note will appear here.

Fill in the fields above and choose "Write my note".
Nothing you type is sent anywhere: it stays in this page,
on this device, until you save, print or copy it.

Info and policies

What it costs, what to bring, what we do with your note.

Cost

Free. A donation at the door is welcome and never changes who gets a seat. Instructors are paid a stipend from the community service budget, not from the class.

What to bring

  • Your registration note (on the phone is fine, a paper copy is fine).
  • Photo ID, if you have one. Nobody is turned away without it, and a nickname works.
  • Eye and ear protection if you have them. We lend clean spares at the desk.
  • A notebook. The storage class ends with a written plan for your own home.
  • For the law class: your own questions and your own jurisdiction — the rules differ from street to street and state to state.

Bringing a firearm to a class

  • Unloaded, in a case, with the ammunition stored separately. That is the rule everywhere, every time, with no exceptions.
  • Tell an instructor before you arrive that you are bringing one, so a place can be set aside for it and a bench can be kept clear.
  • We never ask to see it, hold it, or shoot it. Our instructors are there to teach the safe way round, not to take your word for it.
  • Transport it lawfully: cased and unloaded in the vehicle, ammunition separate, and comply with the storage and transport law where you live.
  • No live fire at any class, ever. These are dry-fire and classroom sessions.

Your information

The form above writes your note inside this page only. It is not sent to us, not stored on a server, and not shared with anyone. Saving it to this device is your choice, and you can clear it at any time.

If you register on paper at the door, that sheet is kept in a box at the venue and destroyed after the session. The only record we keep of any class is the head count, so we know how many chairs to set out. Read the privacy note for the rest.

If a class is not right for you, you do not have to sit it out. Ask for a different class, a different time, or a different instructor, and we will find one. If you are in crisis and want to talk about suicide prevention, the lifeline in the United States is 988, and in Canada 9-8-8.
