Gun safety classes
Five classes, one afternoon each, all of them free. Classroom and dry-fire only: no live fire, no account, no signal needed. Every class is taught by a certified firearms safety instructor, and every class is a smaller thing than a certification — a set of habits you can actually keep.

Gun Safety 101 — the four rules
2 hours · ages 16+ · free
What it covers: the four rules in plain words, dry-fire practice with inert training aids, what to do when you find a gun that you did not put there, and how to talk to a child about a gun in the house.
Who it is for: anybody buying a first gun, anybody who has just inherited one, anybody who wants to be able to say the rules out loud without reading them.
You leave with: a printed card of the four rules and a practice plan for your first month.
→Safe Storage & a safer home
90 minutes · ages 18+ · free
What it covers: locked storage that fits the house you actually live in, ammunition stored separately, keys and codes, children, guests and visitors, vehicles and trunks, what to do if a gun goes missing, and what a locked door can and cannot do for the people inside.
Who it is for: anyone who keeps a gun at home, with children, with a partner who has never seen it, or with a house that is open to people who are not always welcome.
You leave with: a written storage plan for your own home, on paper, in your own handwriting.
→Handling, clearing & transport
2.5 hours · ages 18+ · free
What it covers: how to check a gun is unloaded before you touch it, unloading and loading with your finger off the trigger, clearing a jam, the stop command, dry practice at home, and moving a gun from a vehicle to a room lawfully and safely.
Who it is for: people who already own one and want the mechanical confidence of touching it on purpose.
You leave with: a dry-fire drill card you can run at the kitchen table in five minutes.
→The law, where you live
1 hour · ages 18+ · free
What it covers: the federal floor, then the state rules on buying, carrying, storing and transporting, the rules that changed recently, what is required in the first minute after a discharge, and the official places to check for your own street. General information, not legal advice.
Who it is for: anyone who wants to know the rules before they act on them, and anyone who has just moved.
You leave with: a short list of where to check the law where you live, and who to ask.
→After a discharge — first aid and the paperwork
1 hour · ages 16+ · free
What it covers: the first minute after an accidental discharge — make the area safe, call for help, treat the wound, and wait for the people whose job it is — plus what may have to be reported, and what a child who found a gun should do.
Who it is for: everyone. This is the class we most want people to sit through once.
You leave with: nothing in your hands, and the phone number of the emergency line written down where you can find it.
→Choosing
Classes are free, a donation at the door is welcome and never changes who gets a seat, and a class is not a licence. Nothing on this page is legal advice — for the law where you live, see the law, where you live.
